The Planetarium is an educational tool that reproduces the celestial vault inside a room, with the stars, the sun, the planets, as they can be observed on a clear night.
It also shows celestial movements and phenomena in an accelerated way, so as to catch the observer’s attention.
Simulate the appearance of the sky for any location on earth and for any period in the past and future.
In the evening Mercury, Venus and Saturn low on the horizon and when night falls Mars and Jupiter high in the sky, to which Uranus is added, visible only through telescopes.
It is called planetary alignment, a rare event that offers the opportunity to admire the Sky.
For the occasion the Padua Planetarium presents a special evening with: – explanation of the sky, constellations and planets with the dome of the Planetarium – recognition of the winter constellations and observation of the planets through the telescope (in case of unfavorable weather for observation the explanation in the dome will be extended)
