Among the events organised by the LiNUTILE Theatre in anticipation of the 12th Edition of the LiNUTILE Theatre Prize, the one on Sunday 15 December at 4 p.m. takes on a very special significance.

In fact, the Theatre of via Agordat in Padua wants to celebrate an important anniversary: the 50th anniversary of Garinei and Giovannini’s most representative musical comedy: ‘Aggiungi un posto a Tavola’. An anniversary, which will be celebrated throughout Italy, in which the theatre wants to participate given the close ties that bind Stefano Eros Macchi to the Garinei and Giovannini company, being the grandson of Sandro Giovannini.

For the occasion LiNUTILE from Theatre will turn into Cinema to host the screening of the original version of ‘Aggiungi un posto a Tavola’.

Aggiungi un posto a tavola is an Italian musical comedy in two acts by Garinei and Giovannini, written between 1973 and 1974 with Iaia Fiastri, freely inspired by the novel ‘Dopo di me il diluvio’ by David Forrest. The music is by Armando Trovajoli, the sets and costumes by Giulio Coltellacci with choreography by Gino Landi.

Don Silvestro, the parish priest of a small mountain village, one day receives a call from God himself ordering him to prepare an ark in preparation for a second universal flood. The young parish priest, aided by his village and hindered by a thousand inconveniences (not least by the mayor of the village, Crispino, who will try in every way to put a spoke in his wheels), eventually succeeds in his undertaking amidst a thousand doubts, but the ark he builds will never set sail. Shortly before the flood, a cardinal convinces the townspeople not to follow Don Silvestro, who is believed to be crazy for his bizarre idea, so that at the moment of the cataclysm only he and Clementina, the mayor’s young daughter, are on the ark. Silvestro, however, decides not to abandon his village, his friends and when the flood has started he gets off the ark: God sees his plan fail and makes the flood stop.

The screening at the Teatro de LiNUTILE will be a unique opportunity for those who have seen it to see it again and for those who were not there to get to know this wonderful show with a stellar cast: Johnny Dorelli, Bice Valori, Paolo Panelli, Ugo Maria Morosi and many other talented actors and dancers.
