The exhibition hosted at the Museo Eremitani in Padua from 18 April to 13 July 2025 is a retrospective dedicated to Ida Cadorin Music in art Ida Barbarigo, the last descendant of a dynasty of painters, sculptors and architects active in Venice since the mid-18th century.
After her classical studies, Ida Barbarigo found in her genetic belonging to the family ‘workshop’ the motivation for her own, ineluctable choice to devote herself entirely to painting. In fact, painting for Ida is an absolute necessity, a vital need that finds its reason for being in art and eludes any classification: ‘I have painted all my life. I have not lived. But at least I made paintings’.
The proposed exhibition itinerary is divided into two main sections: one strictly chronological and the other thematic, which make it possible to document the vast and varied artistic production of a painter who, with tenacity and determination, was able to develop her own highly personal poetics.
