OPSA – Opera della Provvidenza S. Antonio often receives donations or is the beneficiary of goods of various kinds, from foodstuffs to clothing, objects, furnishings, even furniture and works of art. These are acts of great generosity, which make an important contribution to the day-to-day running of the facility. However, not everything can be used, and that is why the idea of Stazione Mazzini was born: a gift and second-hand market that will exceptionally open its doors on Saturday 9 November, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Via Mazzini, 89 in Sarmeola di Rubano. At 5 p.m. there will also be a toast to celebrate this initiative, unprecedented for OPSA.
The name Mazzini Station comes from the idea of the hustle and bustle of people and objects and, of course, from the location: Via Mazzini 89 in Sarmeola is a building belonging to the Opera della Provvidenza S. Antonio, whose rooms have been set up for the 9 November appointment thanks to the work of a large team of volunteers. Volunteers who have catalogued and prepared many of the objects donated to OPSA over time, but which could not be used at OPSA, waiting for someone to give them a new home. Furniture, utensils, clothes, boxed toys, paintings, books… for those who participate, Stazione Mazzini will be an opportunity to relove objects regardless of their actual value, with sustainability in mind. And to do good: the proceeds of Stazione Mazzini, in fact, go to support OPSA’s social-assistance projects.
