On Saturday, April 26 at 4.30 p.m., Salone Ristorante BRONZETTI, the Circolo della Lirica of Padua presents an engaging opera-theater concert entitled “Tenor vs. Baritone – Friends or Enemies?“
The protagonists of this event will be tenor Carlos Natale and bass-baritone Alberto Comes, accompanied at the piano by M° Cristiano Zanellato, in an exciting confrontation between two male timbres that, in operatic tradition, have always embodied rivalries, contrasts and unexpected complicities.
The program features a selection of the most celebrated duets from the Italian and French operatic repertoire, from Verdi to Donizetti, Puccini to Gounod, via Bizet and Mascagni. Unforgettable scenes from operas such as La forza del destino, Don Carlo, L’elisir d’amore, Carmen, Gianni Schicchi and others will provide audiences with a performance charged with theatrical tension, irony and pathos.
Carlos Natale, an Argentine tenor of international renown, has graced the stages of major theaters in Europe and South America, distinguishing himself through brilliance of timbre and stage presence. A refined and versatile performer, he boasts a vast repertoire ranging from belcanto to verismo. Alberto Comes, a bass baritone from Puglia, has collaborated with prestigious opera institutions in Italy and abroad. Blessed with a powerful voice and interpretive ductility, he has established himself in dramatic and brilliant roles, with a particular fondness for the characters of Verdi and Mozart.
Supporting the musical dialogue between the two singers will be pianist Cristiano Zanellato. An unmissable event for all opera lovers, but also for those who wish to discover – through the theatrical game of the “vocal duel” – the timeless charm of opera.
