APR 15, 2025EVENTO CONCLUSO
Other

On the occasion of Holy Week, the Amici della Musica di Padova perform the music that Bach performed in Leipzig 300 years ago for the Easter festivities in 1725.

More than forty musicians including the choir, the four soloists Camilla Scappatura (soprano), Arlene Miatto Albeldas (alto), Alberto Allegrezza (tenor) and Alberto Spadarotto (bass), the baroque instrumental ensemble and the organ will perform two marvellous sacred cantatas written by J. S. Bach precisely for the Easter celebrations: Cantata BWV 4 ‘Christ lag in Todesbanden’ and Cantata BWV 6 ‘Bleib bei uns, denn es will Abend werden’.

The Iris Ensemble performs concerts on a national and European level. Founded in 2007 as a women’s chamber ensemble, it then formed a mixed ensemble with Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, collaborating with Roberto Loreggian and Nicola Lamon. It has performed with various orchestras and instrumental groups, including La Bottega tartiniana, the regional orchestra Filarmonia Veneta, and the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto.

Marina Malavasi has led various choirs (Nuovo Coro Polifonico, Ensemble Dodecantus, Speculum Musicae) performing concerts in Italy and abroad. She has participated in the first performance of works by contemporary composers and has won numerous international awards. He currently directs the Cesare Pollini Children’s Choir and the Iris Ensemble choir.

Admission to the concert is free.
